Sardinia: Nuraghi Express
“Life in Sardinia is perhaps the best a man can hope for: twenty-four thousand kilometers of forests, countryside, coasts immersed in a miraculous sea should coincide with what I would advise the good Lord to give us as Paradise.” Fabrizio De Andrè A motorcycle trip to discover the second Mediterranean island. Sardinia: a thousand traditions to discover, a unique people who love nature, the typical gastronomy, the coasts that rest on the sea. We at Motoexplora, always attentive to the emotions that a trip must give, we believe that to experience Sardinia in its entirety you have to discover it with who it was born with, so we have studied a trip in collaboration with Sardinian motorcyclists who are expert connoisseurs of the area.

Itinerary
Day 1: Olbia - Alghero, 250km
Day dedicated to the northern coast of the island with a route that alternates the views offered by the sea to those of the small villages of the inland regions.
The images of the typical Gallura granite landscapes will accompany the participant to the coasts of Anglona, a region of important evidence from the Middle Ages, such as the center of Castelsardo, and beyond.
Points of interest: Most Beautiful Villages in Italy (Castelsardo), industrial archeology (Vallicciola Tempio Pausania), Welcoming Villages (Aggius), beaches;
Day 2: Alghero - Alghero, about 220 km
Ring route that develops mainly through the north-western region of the island, the Nurra.
Also on this day, the participant will be accompanied by the background of the sea which will frame important testimonies of the Middle Ages; the roads, sometimes winding and flanked by unspoilt nature, will lead to important points of interest, such as that of the small hamlet of Rebeccu and the unspoiled Porto Ferro, beach on the Coral Riviera.
Points of interest: industrial archeology (Argentiera), panoramic points, beaches;
Day 3: Alghero - Iglesia, 300 Km
“Marathon” day during which the entire island will be crossed in a north-south direction, from Nurra to the Iglesiente region.
The route will develop through the most famous coastal roads of the island until it reaches the winding provincial roads of the Guspinese area, decreeing the rider’s entry into what were among the most important industrial areas of Europe in the last century.
Among the uncontaminated nature, the mining landscapes make room, through which the roads offer clear evidence of a history not too distant to us. These vibes will characterize the route up to the base camp, (not surprisingly) chosen in the mining town of Iglesias.
Points of interest: Most Beautiful Villages in Italy (Bosa), panoramic roads (Alghero-Bosa), industrial archeology (Montevecchio), Unesco World Heritage (Dunes of Piscinas).
Day 4: Iglesias - Iglesias, 180km
This stage will be dedicated to a circular tour to discover the nearby region of Sulcis, famous for its “Carignano del Sulcis” wines.
Along the way, the mining history will give way again to uncontaminated nature, leading the rider to the edges of the south-west coast: between immaculate beaches and the scent of Mediterranean scrub, you will reach some important sites of naturalistic interest such as that of Porto Pino beach .
Points of interest: beaches, scenic drives.
Giorno 5: Iglesias - Fonni - 230 km
Day 6: Fonni - Cala Gonone, 160km
The sixth day is dedicated to the roads and landscapes declared among the most beautiful on the island; after skirting the Gennargentu massif, the participant will leave Barbagia behind to welcome the winding roads of Ogliastra.
The curves immersed in nature will guide us up to the regions of the Baronie, always under the watchful eye of the Massif which forms the backdrop, but this time from its eastern side.
Points of interest: panoramic roads, mountain passes, Ogliastra villages, beaches;
Day 7 - Cala Gonone, about 170 km
This day concludes the great tour of Sardinia, but not before having crossed the most well-known historical region of the hinterland, that of Nuoro. The winding roads lead to the small island towns perched in the middle of the woods, home to important tenor singing groups (Intangible Heritage of UNESCO).
With the proposed itinerary, the traveler will be able to get in touch with the Sardinian realities, the essence of the entire island.
Each day will be like experiencing a “journey within a journey”: the historical regions, in fact, although united under the symbol of a single flag, transmit different images and landscapes of Sardinia, guaranteeing unique emotions for each stage tackled.
